Name: Kat Country: United States State: Illinois Metro: Dekalb Birthday: 3/17/1984 Gender: Female
Interests: I really like my feet. I like them a lot, and I take a lot of pictures of them, I love spending time with friends, especially when there's something practical that I ought to be doing, I like to eat, especially good food that I didn't have to cook, I love watching movies.... lots of different kinds of movies! Expertise: Again, my feet! I can read upside down, and stick out my tounge while crossing my eyes, Oh! I can wiggle my ears one at a time!! Isn't that special? I think it is. I can be brutally honest. Yah, that one gets me in trouble. I open my mouth and say the worst things. In 4th grade, I told this girl in my class that the color of her shirt looked like someone had eaten broccoli and thrown it up. I wasn't even trying to be mean, honest! I just said it... It was true... and she told every girl in our class... I was SO embarassed! At any rate, what else am I an expert at? I'm really good at getting off topic, as you may have noticed. | I know, I know, I'm supposed to update more often. Let's see.... my awesome job turned into the job from hell. I quit on Thursday. Hi. So I'm at home, looking for a job. Other than that, Peoria is good. I think we've found a church, which is exciting. Andrew's mom and I went to Washington on Saturday, and went to lunch and went shopping. There's a cool quilt store there, and we looked at all the fabric and patterns. Marilyn got me this cool purse pattern book... I'm excited to make some purses! Then we went to a really cool quilt show... all in all it was a great time. Andrew and I went supply shopping on Sunday for Christmas presents we're making. I've become shockingly crafty. It's very exciting. Well... I think that's it.... See ya'll later!
| So I'm at work, right? There I was trying to have lunch, and our cook's daughter's mouth, I swear, hasn't closed in like 10 minutes straight. I'm not sure when she breathes, seriously! She's 12 going on 21. We're sitting at a sqaure table, and she's to my left, around the corner. My head is resting on my left hand, and I'm really tying to tune her out. She eventually stops talking and just kind of stares at me, and therefore, my left hand... I promise you'll see where I'm going with this if you read the following dialog: Her: So do you have a boyfriend? Me: No, I don't. Her: How old are you? Me: 22. Her: I would have thought that a girl like you would have a boyfriend by now. Me: Well, I would, but my husband won't let me. Her: Oh!
It was seriously awesome in it's own special way. I was sure she had to have seen the ring chilling on my left hand as she stared at me. But I must admit, I'll probably NEVER get another chance to tell someone that my husband won't let me have a boyfriend. It was fun to say, I'll give her that.
I love my job. It's a riot most days, I work with 2 & 1/2-3 year olds. There are 26 different kids in my class. Some kids come just mornings and some come all day, some all week, other just a couple days a week. My kids will be moving up into the 3 year old room in just a couple weeks. Then I get to redo my classroom, and welcome a whole bunch of just barely 2 and 1/2 year olds. It's going to be a change from my 3 year oldd now. I'm excited though. I don't know who my co-teacher will be, but God will provide for all of that... including getting everything done in my classroom that has to happen. I have so many hopes and dreams and ideas for that class room. I can't wait, but I'm nervous at the same time. Like I said.... God will provide!
| WE DID IT!!!!! YAY FOR BEING MARRIED!!!!
We're sitting in Sacramento, at the airport, waiting to get on our plane to come home.... The wedding was AMAZING!!!!! YAY!!!!
| I'm such a slacker.... I'll update.... I'll call it a packing break. School is done, but I'm exhausted, I've been working about 10 hours a day packing and cleaning so I can MOVE to Peoria. The fateful day is Saturday, but I'm trying to have everything done by Thursday night when Andrew should be here. Seriously, I have so much junk... I've got so much to throw away. Man, I'm tired too. My parents are in France at a conference my dad's speaking at... hence my motivation to work so hard. I have nothing else to do and no one to entertain me. I went to Rockford last night and had dinner with Ali. I saw her house.... it's so exciting to realize I have a friend who bought a house.... that I'm old enough to have close friends, peers, who are buying cars and houses, and getting married (oh, wait, that's me). Seriously, though, it's crazy. Katie and Rachel threw a bachelorette party/personal shower for me... I had an AWESOME time, and I hope everyone who came did too. I'm getting married in SEVENTEEN DAYS!!!!! I'm SO excited... I can't wait... well, I guess I can, since my dress hasn't gotten its alterations done, I haven't written my vows, I haven't put together the favors.... oh, that's because I don't have them yet.... hmmm... I better ask my mom about that one. Well... I think that's all the break I get.... back to work slave! Love, Kat | | |
| So.... as if I haven't done enough time as a sick person.... I now have a sinus infection! GRRR!!!
On a happier note, I am back in DeKalb, and I'm glad to be back.... let me tell ya, I didn't miss my classes at all while I was gone, but I sure did miss my job. It's good to be back and feel productive for 25 hours a week. Classes are going to be a crazy whirlwind of catching up in the next few days. Well.... I'm really tired, and I'm not feeling creative at all, so I'll end here! Thanks for reading Have a great day!
